History

According to Hindu scriptures, Akshaya Tritiya marks multiple divine events — the birth of Lord Parashurama (the sixth incarnation of Vishnu), the start of the Treta Yuga, and when Ved Vyasa began writing the Mahabharata with Lord Ganesha. On this day, Lord Krishna bestowed the 'Akshaya Patra' on the Pandavas — a vessel of endless food — symbolizing abundance and generosity.
